Ch 32 – Second Generation Ancestor x Illegitimate Child: Vanished Into Thin Air

The sky had not darkened yet, still lit by the setting sun.

The surface of the crystalline ocean was sprinkled with gleaming, fuzzy waves, which crashed and ebbed against the coral reef.

Lin Sui was carried back by Yan Qin, and that suppressed eagerness made Lin Sui let out a muffled laugh, clearly in a very good mood.

Lin Sui was such a vile person he didn’t care about or place any importance on other people, but it delighted him to see Yan Qin be so infatuated with him.

The house in the island had servants specifically hired to come clean, who appeared at the appointed hour, and it was empty for the remainder of the time, Yan Qin had also arranged security on the perimeter of the island, so even if Lin Sui didn’t hide his voice, it would be heard only by the vast sea and the creatures circling above it.

Yan Qin was especially high-handed today, he seemed to be trying to pour out all of his madness, both the spoken and the unspeakable, into Lin Sui’s soul, and make him earnestly feel his love.

Lin Sui’s slender white arms were covered in a thin layer of sweat, and they hung down weakly.

Even in this exhausted position, he was still the god who controlled Yan Qin.

He influenced all of Yan Qin’s emotions, whether it was joy, anger, or even love.

He sank into love and unobtainability, obtained the ultimate spiritual pleasure and pain in the crossfire, and put an end to all that pain today.
He was fully aware that it was an illusion, but still held on to the slightest thread of hope and delusion.

Through obtaining and possessing, the feeling of pleasure invaded the densely-packed nerves.

Lin Sui saw the faint expression revealed on Yan Qin’s face, and pinched Yan Qin’s nape between his fingers.

He really was pathetic and adorable, Lin Sui thought pitifully, his palm against the side of Yan Qin’s neck as he decided to leave him with a little something to remember.

Lin Sui understood Yan Qin, they had tried many things over the hundreds of years they were together, some ordinary and some more daring, but Yan Qin was shy by nature, so he wouldn’t choose any bold moves.
Regarding what he liked most, it was obvious, but he didn’t say it, and he even thought that Lin Sui didn’t know about his thoughts.

Lin Sui wrapped his arms around Yan Qin’s neck and moved closer to the side of his ear.

Yan Qin liked it like this because he could clearly see his face, and he could enjoy the feeling of both being controlled by him and of controlling him.
Lin Sui liked it too, but he liked it plenty more.

Lin Sui leaned against Yan Qin, not saying anything, but naturally letting out a few sounds.

This was enough to drive Yan Qin wild.

Outside of the room, among the towering sky and the vast sea, white gulls flit across the surface of the sea, leaving behind vague shadows.

That balloon they had bought was not tied down, so it floated to the ceiling.

Lin Sui was disturbed for several days, and not even the swing outside was spared.
He lazily extended a hand when he was carried out the door, and told Yan Qin to help him bring down that balloon.

The balloon had plenty of air inside, it hadn’t completely deflated in these few days.

Yan Qin grabbed the balloon again and tied it on Lin Sui’s wrist, where it swayed and rocked along with the movements of the swing.

“Yan Qin.”

Lin Sui suddenly called out Yan Qin’s name.
Yan Qin drew him into his arms and responded in a low voice.

But Lin Sui didn’t say anything, he only untied the string and watched as that balloon drifted upwards, and away into the distance.

Yan Qin watched the thing halfway up the sky, and muttered with his head buried in Lin Sui’s neck: “If A-Sui likes it, I’ll buy you another one tomorrow.”

Lin Sui watched with a sentimental look as the corners of Yan Qin’s lips rose slightly.

Yan Qin was out for half a month, and aside from the island, he took Lin Sui around to all kinds of places.
He was happy to see Lin Sui’s previous depression did not reappear and that his appetite was fine, in the event that he managed to eat.

The trip inevitably had to come to an end.
There were meetings and studies in Jingzhou that Yan Qin had no choice but to personally attend, and Tao Ting and Chu Feng couldn’t replace him any more.

Tian Qi was still on the rise, this kind of busy schedule was essential.

“A-Sui, let’s go home, how about a place with a garden this time?”

During this time, Yan Qin had already made a new environment for Lin Sui.
It was still excellent in every respect, but it was a cage all the same.

“Up to you.”

Lin Sui’s voice was a little hoarse as he responded with waning interest, neither angry nor hurt.

Yan Qin’s pulse sped up, intuition told him something bad was going to happen, but he didn’t do anything aside from tightening his palms.

The new residence was a small bungalow, Yan Qin reinforced the security measures and threw himself into his busy schedule feeling ill at ease.

He hugged Lin Sui to sleep every night, worried that he would have disappeared from his side as soon as he opened his eyes, but nothing had happened after a week, and Lin Sui was a little fed up with his clinging.

The uneventful environment seemed to be mocking his sensitivity paranoia.

November 7th, the start of winter.

Lin Sui sat on the living room, watching as a question popped up on the TV and using the touchscreen to press ‘OK’.

[You’re finally relenting, boss, then we’ll send someone to go pick you up right now!]

A huge smiling face appeared on the screen, and he could sense the joy from the person on the other side from across the screen.

Wu Qiu and Gao Jing talked about this, then put on their hats and set off with the organised group.

Clearly they’d already captured the network a few days ago, but their boss had told them to wait a few days.
They didn’t know what they were waiting for, but that didn’t matter, now they were setting off to get him.

This protected version of Tian Qi’s Blue Butterfly was really a bit annoying with its double layered defence, but luckily he’d already defeated the second generation version of Blue Butterfly and read the data, otherwise it might have taken a very long time.

The TV returned back to normal when the smiling face disappeared from the screen, as if nothing different had happened.

Lin Sui looked at the bracelet with the character ‘Qin’ engraved on his wrist, touched it with his fingers, then put them down again.

The main door opened and closed, the young man sitting inside the car wearing a black hat gave Lin Sui a charming smile.

Wu Qiu looked at the small bungalow and tapped at the keyboard incessantly with a malicious expression, but when he saw Lin Sui, he immediately became well-behaved.

Inside the Tian Qi building, Yan Qi had just finished his third meeting and tiredly sat down on a chair.

The Yan clan had already been integrated by him and he’d eliminated any unnecessary sinkholes, it operated while serving as a reserve pool of capital for Tian Qi, to assist in Tain Qi’s growth.

The development of the third generation of the Blue Butterfly system aimed for the military was almost complete, it was right in the middle of the testing stage.
Yna Qin let out a troubled breath and turned on the system, wanting to see Lin Sui.

He’d just purchased today’s ingredients to make coconut chicken for the young master when he got back.
He should like it, he ate a lot last time.

After seeing the empty home with not a soul in sight, Yan Qin straightened up in his seat and investigated every camera, trying to find clues.

A section of time had been cut out, along with a section from the main entrance camera and the one on the road.

The office door opened, and Tao Ting was about to discuss something with Yan Qin when she saw him striding out with a gloomy face, and she stepped out of his way slightly surprised.

What was going on? Could it be that the Lin family found out what he did?

Yan Qin searched every corner of the house.
Lin Sui seemed to have vanished all of a sudden, everything was exactly the same, only he had disappeared.

The house was dark, only the living room was lit with a dim white light.

Yan Qin examined the system with a heavy face and found no traces of unauthorised access.
Upon closer inspection, he finally found some foreign traces, a few streams of data that had snuck in among the others and were issuing administrative orders.

Yan Qin’s eyes darkened, but he was especially calm in this extremely anxious situation.

His system had actually been hacked without him knowing, which clearly meant the other party had more control than he had imagined, and that none of his other systems were safe.

Yan Qin ordered his team to work overtime.
Both the already-released first generation and the second generation in beta testing, even the third generation system in the middle of development, they all needed to be upgraded.

Lin Sui’s disappearance had either been orchestrated by the Lin family or by an unknown, hidden rival.

The probability for the latter relatively small, while the former… The Lin family had been quiet for so many days, could it be that it was to make him let his guard down?

But how could they know it was him? Moreover, Lin Sui had always been inside the golden house he’d built him, so how did the outside world find out about his disappearance?

A heavy cloud of doubts and suspicions pressed down on his heart, Yan Qin planned on shutting down the house’s operating systems, but was met with obstruction.

Every piece of smart home technology turned on a red light, flashing in a slightly crazy manner.

The TV turned on by itself, and broadcast a message.

“According to the 238th article of the criminal law, the punishment for illegally detaining another, or using another method to illegally deprive another of their personal freedom, is 3 years or less…”

The mechanical voice seemed to be particularly mocking at that moment, water flooded out from everywhere, the roomba rolled around in disarray across the entire house, and the air conditioner jumped from an extremely low temperature one moment to an extremely high one the next.

Yan Qin was in the middle of this chaos, but revealed a trace of a smile.

This kind of childish phenomenon was not the young master’s doing, but at least it had been done by someone for the young master’s sake.

It seemed that the young master was safe and sound, and that was enough.

Yan Qin made a call, and slightly lowered his eyes in front of the mirror as he tidied up.

The thing he’d been afraid of for a long time had already happened, it was actually kind of freeing.

He had been in a constant state of anxiety from loss, frightened about losing him and frightened of what he had done.

How could a person imprison their own master? The proposition was contradictory from the outset.

If he wanted to tame a butterfly and maintain its beauty, there were only two ways.

The first was to turn it into a specimen, the second was to turn into its habitat.

He was reluctant to harm Lin Sui, and he had no way to make Lin Sui willingly stop for him.

How should he get him, then? He didn’t know.

Yan Qin had thought about it for a long, long time, from six or seven years ago up to the present, and he could not get an answer.

That soul was set up on high, drifting outside of the mortal world, coldly looking askance at his vulgar love and despicable greed.

At the Lin house, Lin Min was very surprised when Yan Qin suddenly paid her a visit, and made him a cup of tea.

Yan Qin chatted about business for a bit, then asked about what Lin Sui had been doing recently seemingly by accident, observing Lin Min’s expression.

“Isn’t An-An having fun outside? Hasn’t he contacted you?”

Lin Min was a little surprised, she thought Yan Qin and her brother had a thing, shouldn’t he know where Lin Sui was?

“We had contact before, but he didn’t reply to my message today.”

“An-An said he lost his phone and had someone pass the news to us.
Don’t worry, he’ll contact you again when he has a way.”

Lin Min patted him on the head, thinking of this opportunity.

Yan Qin’s body leaned forward unconsciously, and he asked a little urgently: “When did he get in contact with you?”

“About half an hour ago.”

Half an hour ago.
Lin Sui had left that house two hours ago, it seemed that he really was fine.

Yan Qin spoke a bit about business again, seemingly having come only for that purpose.

Lin Min watched him leave, then looked towards the young man that came out of the room.

She wanted to ask him something, but seeing Lin Sui watching Yan Qin’s departing back with a smile, she didn’t ask anything.

Yan Qin returned to that bungalow, purposefully walking towards that room on the second floor.

The inside of that box was absolutely empty, there was no trace of its contents.

Yan Qin cupped the empty box in his hands, but it was as if he’d gained the most precious treasure.

“He took it…”

Yan Qin muttered with delight, then held the box against his cheek as if it was Lin Sui’s palm.

The thin chain that he originally wore around his neck had been broken by Lin Sui, so the one that had been placed inside the box was the golden chain that paired up with Lin Sui’s bracelet.

The engraving on it was still ‘Sui’, but he hadn’t put it on himself, rather, he was waiting for the day when Lin Sui would put it on for him once again, even if that day never came.

“He took it.”

Yan Qin repeated once again, his tone light and tender.
