There is an old saying that goes more or less like this: slow and steady wins the race.
It is a saying that teaches you not to rush things and just go slowly, because sometimes a more cautious approach is the one that shall bring the best results possible.
It is also formulated in such a way that even a complete dummy or a numbskull would be able to grasp its meaning with ease.
Sometimes I get a feeling that a true sage came up with sayings like that one.

 

But wait just a moment…… If you are a wise man, then you know that rushing things is bad and that taking it slow is a desirable approach.
So does that mean…… The one who came up with this saying was not a wise man, but a total numbskull!?

 

I am by no means a numbskull.
Sure, I might act a little bit reckless or crazy from time to time, but at least I am not stupid enough to pick a fight with the member of the opposing guild just because I feel like it.
Not that would not consider such behavior really cool.
Also, if I can help it I would rather stay away from anything that even remotely resembles PK…… Doesn’t that make me a really smart of a person?

 

Anyways, I know for sure that I am not stupid.
Therefore, I am too smart to rush things, and I understand the virtue of taking it slow and steady.
In my mind and in my eyes, that is the perfect example of a logical behavior.

I was running late, as luck would have it.
I would never actually hope to be there on time if I took the streets, so I was running alongside the rooftops, where there would be no traffic to get in my way.
Also, since getting through the door would be too much of a hassle right now, I decided to run straight towards the window and I jumped forward, breaking the glass and landing straight on the upper floor of the place where the meeting was supposed to be held.
And the actual meeting place? It was the place designated by the “Black Wolves”, one of their bases in Fifthsia.
Call it an irony, but right about now it was nothing short of a wolves den form me.

Suppoosedly, it was built by the members of “Black Wolves” after one of their large scale hunting raids for the ease of accessing the more bountiful harvest and hunting grounds around these parts of the map.
For us, the members of the guild “Wolfgang”, coming here was like jumping head first into the stomach of a ravenous beast.

 

Of course, since Kyo-Timate got in into this mess in the first place, it was a given that she had to come along.
Nothing other than that was out of the question.
Pencilgton was licking her lips while her eyes were full of anticipation, and Katsu was checking his equipment over and over again.
Really now, do you honestly think that some sort of a fight is going to occur because of Kyo-Timate? But still, even I found myself to be gently stroking the handle of my own sword.

 

However, this time around the delegation that would go to meet the guild “Black Wolves” consisted of four people.
Three of the four were the us, the original trio that gave birth to “Wolfgang” and the fourth was Kyogoku, the one who was the cause of this whole meeting in the first place.
