MEIWITA Chapter 454: Grand Competition Finals (One)

The twelve people of the Six Sects who entered the finals for the Array Competition drew lots to determine their group at the same time.

Lou Mu Yan drew the first group and Di Shi Tian drew the second group, which made both Headmaster Feng and Huo Ling Long sigh with relief.

After all, if the two went against each other, one of them would have to be eliminated.
If they didn’t match up, then there was still hope that both of them could enter the top six.

The competition of the two groups progressed at the same time and all six people in Lou Mu Yan’s group one went onto the left side of the competition stage together.

There were three referees on the stage and one of them stepped forward to announce the rules.

“The Array Competition is divided into three matches.
In the first match, the pupils who participate in the competition are asked to arrange the array with the array tools we give.
The time limit is only two hours.
Those who have not arranged it successfully within that time will be directly eliminated.

“In the second match, the pupils who have passed the first match will repair a broken array that we have provided, all the same.
The time limit is two hours, and those who cannot repair the array within two hours will be eliminated directly.

“In the third match, the pupils who passed earlier will enter the same array we have arranged and the pupils who successfully break the arrays and restrictions will enter round two against the top three of the other group.
If any pupil cannot break the array within two hours, they will be directly eliminated.

“Alright, the first match starts now.”

As soon as his words fell, the several people walked to their competition space in order.

Lou Mu Yan picked up the array in front of her and took a look—an Initial-Level Grade 4 Fire Elemental Array.
After being arranged, it can shoot powerful elemental flames from all directions to kill the enemy.
It can be considered a relatively powerful killing array.

She didn’t hold the array flags and array tools like the other pupils to carefully ponder, but instead grabbed the Elemental Stones that had been nourished and tossed them in four directions, then taoist seals formed from Elemental Energy entered the four small red array flags.

After arranging the four flags, she activated Elemental Energy and began to construct the pattern of the array in the air, then she pointed at the main array flag.

After the main array flag was activated, it flew into the array, emitting a dazzling red light.
A red light cover landed on the spot, and four pillars of fire erupted at the same time with magnificent momentum.

The power of the array was astonishing—if a Middle-Phase Sword Venerable accidentally landed in the array, they could still be severely injured or even die.

It only took an incense stick of time from Lou Mu Yan arriving on the stage to the unhurried arrangement of the array.
The speed made everyone present absolutely stunned.

Of course, this final was different to the semi-finals.
In addition to Lou Mu Yan, there were also other experts lurking.
Among the two groups, there were three who set up the Fire Elemental Array one after the other.

Seat of the supervisors above.

Seeing that Lou Mu Yan and Di Shi Tian both set up the Fire Elemental Array so quickly, the other five Sects’ Headmasters all felt a little uncomfortable, but they didn’t show it.

“Headmaster Feng, the two pupils of your Eight Extremes Sect in the Array Competition are both pretty good.” A Headmaster of the Heavenly Secret Palace said with a smile, “Could they both be Grade 5 Array Masters already?”

Headmaster Feng breathed a sigh of relief, smiled humbly, and said: “Not at all, not at all, they’ve only just passed the first match.
There are still two more difficult matches to follow.
The other pupils also performed very well.”

He didn’t answer the question about being Grade 5 Array Masters, because even he had no idea.

“I think that that pupil of the Heavenly Secret Palace looks like a Grade 5 pupil.
There’s hope for him to win the championship this time!” The Headmaster of the Vast Mountain Sect pointed to a pupil who was second only to Lou Mu Yan to finish arranging the array and said with a smile.

The Headmaster of the Heavenly Secret Palace had a hint of smugness in his eyes, and he also pointed to another person humbly and said: “That pupil of your Vast Mountain Sect should be the trump card of this Array Competition right? I think he should also be a Grade 5 Array Master, and also has hope for winning the competition.”

“Haha, you even realised that.”

“Likewise, likewise.”

The people pushed about, but they all ruled out the possibility of the Eight Extremes Sect winning the championship.

In their opinion, the talent and strength of Lou Mu Yan’s array was very strong, but her cultivation base dragged her back.
A Grade 5 Array simply couldn’t be arranged by the density of the Elemental Energy of a Sword Sovereign.

Di Shi Tian’s cultivation base was good, and his talent and strength were also strong, but the means of arranging the array wasn’t as proficient as the other two, so it was unlikely that he would be able to win the championship—although it was hopeful for him to enter the top five.

Huo Ling Long furrowed her brows as she watched these old fellows pretending to be modest, playing tai chi by going back and forth.
Her voice was neither loud nor soft, but everyone in the seats could hear, “Hypocrites.”

“…” The several Headmasters who were originally discussing enthusiastically blushed and turned white when they heard her words.

This demoness really was a downer.
Was the brain of the Sect Leader of the Eight Extremes Sect broken this time—how could he let this woman be a leader?

Headmaster Feng was originally a little afraid of Huo Ling Long, but each time when he watched her anger those undead old things1 of the other Sects half to death, he suddenly discovered that her hot and direct temper wasn’t actually that bad.

In the first match of the two groups of the Array Competition, only two people were eliminated, and the remaining ten people began the second match.

The second match was to repair a broken Grade 4 defence array.

Lou Mu Yan walked into the array and looked around, then she had a general understanding.
She picked up some of the array tools that had been prepared already to repair the array, then started to get busy.

This Grade 4 defence-type array consisted of ten restrictions, two of which were missing, so the array couldn’t be activated.

She quickly found the missing two layers of restrictions and used her array tools to repair it, then before an incense stick of time was up, she poured in some Elemental Energy into the array.

Immediately, a brilliant light shone from the array, and a blue light cover appeared in the open stage.
The Grade 4 defence-type array repair was completed and successfully activated.

Her speed greatly surprised everyone present again.

Not far away on the viewing platform where pupils of the Heavenly Secret Palace were, Ming Xiu folded his arms and leaned against a stone pillar to watch.
Bai Fei Yao and several old pupils from the Inner Sect walked up to him and stood beside him.

An old pupil who was familiar with Ming Xiu smiled and said: “I didn’t expect Junior Brother Chi to be interested in this competition too!”

“The overall strength of the six newly promoted pupils in this session isn’t bad, so I’ve come to take a look.” Ming Xiu nodded lightly and replied simply.

Bai Fei Yao saw that he was in an attire of white, gentle and ethereal, his phoenix-shaped eyes were cold and deep with a fatal attraction, while his handsome face made him look more like a fallen immortal who had descended into the mortal world.

She looked at him greedily, a blush appeared on her face, then she restrained her expression and smiled innocently and sweetly, “Brother Chi, do you think that the Junior Brother from our Heavenly Secret Palace will win the championship of this Array Competition?”

Ming Xiu’s attention was all on Lou Mu Yan.
When he heard her ask, he replied indifferently: “He has no chance of winning the championship.”

Bai Fei Yao and the others never thought he would say this, but he had long been famous for his deadly and sharp discernment skills, and they couldn’t help but believe it.

“Junior Brother Chi, who among those people is more likely to win the championship?” A pupil couldn’t resist asking.

An arc overflowed from Ming Xiu’s lips, and he replied succinctly: “Eight Extremes Sect Lou Mu Yan.”

His woman was naturally the best—she always attracted his attention no matter what.

“…” The people all turned to look towards Lou Mu Yan.

Although they were also amazed by her talent and speed in arrays, but her cultivation base really wasn’t much.
By the time of the true finals, if she couldn’t even build a Grade 5 Array, she would definitely lose.

Under normal circumstances, a Sword Master with a Sword Sovereign cultivation base wouldn’t be able to advance to a Grade 5 Array Master, unless she hid her strength.

Bai Fei Yao’s hand hidden within her sleeve was tightly clenched, her nails penetrating into her skin.
A strong sense of crisis suddenly rose in her heart.

The man she loved was paying attention another woman—she definitely wouldn’t mistake that smile on his lips just now.
This was a woman’s sixth sense.

1so I used to translate 老不死 into damned old things because I couldn’t think of anything else that sounded offensive enough, but I wonder how ‘undead old things’ sound? Or ‘old undead things’? The term 老不死 is kinda an insult (sometimes jokingly between close friends) saying they’ve gotten so old that they’ve really outlived their purpose, like, why aren’t you dead yet??? I considered using ‘immortal old things’ what do you guys think? Hahaha.
It’s not that important really.

I went on a translating spree over the weekends… Look forward to a mass release XD
